The second independent volume in Mari Jungstedt's Malaga series, set against the backdrop of the Andalusian mountains and the metropolitan pulse of Malaga.

On an icy New Year's Day, a newly in-love couple is found murdered. The pair has been shot with arrows in a hot tub at a remote farmhouse in northern Sweden. The man is Swedish, but lives in Malaga, and the woman is Spanish.

The case turns out to lead to a shadowy environment in Marbella's run-down harbor district and to terrible events in the past. Police detective and widower Hector Correa is put in charge of the Spanish part of the investigation, and to assist him, he has the former high school teacher, Swedish Lisa Hagel, who, after her divorce, has bought a fixer-upper villa in Spain and is ready for new adventures.
